BACKGROUND
When I made the move from Alaska to Baltimore, it was with a heart full of adventure and wanting to get to know a new city. I found it to be a place that motivated me to write and record music. During that time I was able to get to know the people and culture of Baltimore, and I fell in love.
Through my interactions in the city, I learned that there were basic human needs that were not being met with regard to food and resources. It was then that I made the decision to fuse my dream of sharing music with the world and helping the people of the city that became a home to me.
My debut CD ‘We Are the Sounds’ is being used as a resource to help meet basic human needs. All artist royalties received from the record will be donated in order to help meet the needs of the city through a partnership with Parks and People.
PARTNERSHIP
Parks and People is an inspiring organization who has developed innovative solutions to issues facing the city of Baltimore including the restoration of neighborhoods and their natural resources as well as the academic enrichment and motivation of children. I have teamed with Parks and People to help develop and support the planting of school yard gardens for inner city children. These gardens not only provide the basic human need of providing food, but they also provide an educational and healthy environment for the children to learn.
